Eszter Koncz is an interdisciplinary artist from Hungary observing, mapping, and making objects with a strong visual focus. Currently a nomad, travelling across Europe with a backpack, measuring miles and time in yarn. Coming from a devised theatre background, she works within a certain methodology that might be summed up in the motto, ‘thinking through making’. Making as sympoiesis ( Haraway) “a becoming-with”, “a making together”. She understands her work as an ongoing engagement with the surroundings: always a collaboration, a dialogue between the human and nonhuman habitats of the landscape. Next to compound artistic research projects (often focusing on local creatures & folklore), she does graphic design and makes clothes from upcycled materials. She is at the moment dreaming of owning a garden, learning to work with sheep & wool, and finding the perfect PhD program.
