Since 2024 I have been part of a mulitdisciplinary artistic collective, the Attic. (name in progress)
We (Eszter, Kirstine, Mara, Michal, Ping, and Sai) were taking care of Cross Attic, an artistic venue 129 steps up in the sky in Prague 7 in its last chapter before it closed its doors in November 2024.
With Cross Attic gone (the place that was our core inspiration and subject) we are currently facing a million questions about the future of our little collective. For example: are we a collective? One thing that is clear to us is that we really want to be! The 6 of us connected over a mutual curiosity and care towards the Attic (and a shared history from our studies at DAMU in the MA DOT program) Our collaboration is rooted in a site-specific sensibility and interest in objects and their stories that we wish to further explore in the future.
In the collective we share the responsibility of production, communication and curating events. Besides these duties, my main responsibilitiy is creating graphic design and trying to conlude our activity in texts and pictures for communication, for social media, newsletters etc.
Cross Attic had been a secret playground for us for a year. During this period there, I started to work on a couple of projects.
1. a series of monsters ~ creatures inspired by the shapes in the dark corners of the attic ~ by upcycling second hand textiles: partly ones that we found at the storage spaces of Cross Attic, and partly forgotten pieces from the dark corners of our own wardrobes. These creatures create a playful and cozy atmosphere while fostering awareness of the beyond human entities cohabiting Cross Attic with us. These (relational) objects will stay in the attic, providing an environment for future events.

2. graphic design for Cross Attic, based on details of the space.

3. sewing workshops for a small members of participants, mostly beginners, creating a dress following an easy pattern made by me.

4. speculative open table discussions - a playful attempt to try to solve some unsolvable issues about the place.
